According to the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL), the trend has been on an upward trajectory since January, with 84.63 lakh passengers in January and 86.15 lakh passengers in February. This steady rise indicates a growing reliance on metro services among commuters.

Notably, March 4 witnessed the highest influx of passengers for the month, with approximately 3.34 lakh individuals utilizing the metro transit system.

Breaking down the ticketing preferences, the majority of passengers, totaling 37.64 lakh, utilized travel cards, followed by 13.95 lakh passengers opting for the Singara Chennai card.
