According to box office data on sacnilk.com, ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ recorded an overall English occupancy rate of 27.88% on Friday. While the morning shows initially reported a modest 14.87% occupancy, the film gained momentum throughout the day, with evening shows reaching 26.58% and night screenings soaring to an impressive 48.12% occupancy.
Drawing the largest crowds from cities like Chennai, Kochi, Pune, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, the film’s popularity highlights its widespread appeal across various regions of India. Additionally, the Hindi dubbed version of the movie maintained an overall occupancy rate of 11.94%, while the Tamil and Telugu versions reported average occupancies of 15.88% and 6.30%, respectively.
The film managed to score impressive collections, despite clashing with the new Bollywood actioner, ‘Yodha’, starring Sidharth Malhotra. The movie also fought off competition from Ajay Devgn‘s ‘Shaitaan’ that has been ruling the box office over the past week.
Meanwhile, across the Pacific in the United States, the fourth instalment of the Kung Fu Panda series is poised to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise. Entering its second weekend in US theatres, ‘Kung Fu Panda 4’ is anticipated to maintain its dominance, with projected earnings of approximately $28 million to $30 million.
To date, the film has amassed an impressive $62 million at the US box office and a global total inching close to the 100-million mark with a current collection of $93 million.
