BLive partners with Zomato to expand green deliveries in South India, deploying EV fleets for sustainable last-mile services.

BLive, a leading electric vehicle (EV) platform in India, has expanded its partnership with Zomato, the popular food delivery service, in the southern region.

This collaboration, which began in June 2023, aims to introduce electric vehicle fleets for deliveries in major cities and towns, including metros and Tier 1 and 2 cities.

Since the launch of the partnership, BLive has been at the forefront of facilitating sustainable last-mile deliveries. The company has successfully deployed electric vehicle fleets in four major Indian cities: Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

The extended partnership now includes the deployment of TVS iQube scooters for last-mile deliveries in additional key cities. This move addresses the gap in EV supply and strengthens the commitment to promoting electric mobility for sustainable business operations across various regions.

According to Press Release, BLive aims to provide an eco-friendly solution for last-mile deliveries while encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles in India. For Zomato, this collaboration aligns with their ‘EV100’ initiative, which aims for 100 percent deliveries through EVs by 2033, ultimately leading to Net Zero emissions in the food ordering and delivery value chain.

Samarth Kholkar, CEO and Co-founder of BLive, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “BLive has been working tirelessly to accelerate EV adoption in India. Our partnership with Zomato is helping them achieve their EV100 goal and strengthens BLive’s position as a comprehensive EV solutions provider.”

Anjalli Ravi Kumar, Chief Sustainability Officer at Zomato, emphasized their commitment to reducing the environmental impact of food deliveries. She stated, “Our partnership with BLive is crucial in our journey towards 100 percent EV deliveries by 2033, contributing to Net Zero emissions. Shifting to eco-friendly EVs reflects our commitment to sustainability.”

This collaboration is part of BLive’s Rent-to-Own model, making EVs more accessible for delivery partners. Additionally, BLive offers a wide range of EVs from top brands to delivery partners.

Currently, EVs constitute about 5 percent of total vehicle sales in India, but experts predict that they could comprise over 40 percent of the automotive market by 2030.

With last-mile deliveries constituting a significant portion of daily trips in India, the growth opportunities in this sector are vast, and BLive is poised to play a crucial role in India’s EV revolution.
