The company said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the same which will allow the government to leverage Google’s AI leadership and technology expertise to unlock new possibilities in land record management, disease detection, urban environment resilience and AI upskilling amongst others.

Under the MoU, Google will collaborate with the government by offering startups mentorship, networking, and demo days with Google experts and industry leaders covering areas across technology, product development, business strategy, and more.
The government will leverage their technology to help drive progress across critical areas such as skilling, healthcare, agriculture, and sustainability.
“Through this collaboration, our aim is to empower citizens, create new opportunities, foster a thriving innovation ecosystem, and bring the transformative power of AI to the people of Maharashtra,” Sanjay Gupta, country head and VP, Google India, said.

Select startups will also have the opportunity to connect with investors to showcase their solutions. Google will also support AI-focused events designed to solve local challenges and foster innovation and problem solving within the community. Google’s AI Startup program will provide eligible VC-funded AI startups with Cloud credits, technical training, and business support to accelerate their growth.
Google also said it will support government-led skills training and education initiatives by assisting the launch of structured high-demand skills courses owned by government organizations on YouTube; providing a train-the-trainer program on its Gen AI products for educators; and equipping 500 government IT professionals with cutting-edge conversational AI skills through Google Cloud.
These initiatives aim to bridge the skills gap, enhance the learning experience, and drive innovation within government services.
In addition, Google Cloud’s AI and machine learning technologies will be explored to enable the development of pilot solutions to process citizen questions and feedback, for government scheme access, and an AI-powered pilot for farmer assistance for Maharashtra.
