Varun Dhawan is all set to roar on the big screen as he readies his next film, which is produced by Priya Atlee and Murad Khetani and directed by Atlee’s assistant Kalees, the film had been tentatively titled VD18. Now, the makers on Monday have not only released the final name of the film, but also its release date, the film is titled Baby John and is releasing on May 31.

The makers also released a minute long clip showcasing the lead star Varun Dhawan in a completely distinct and dynamic persona. The video has Varun sitting on a throne and is surrounded by Theyyam dancers. The video also showcased powerful background music and a preview of the title track, creating a sense of intrigue and excitement.

Besides Varun, the film also stars Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jackie Shroff in lead roles.
The film is a Hindi adaptation of Thalapathy Vijay’s Theri, which was directed by Atlee and was a super success in Tamil. The film revolves around an honest Police officer who is set to take revenge from a few corrupt politicians who killed his family, just leaving him and his daughter behind . The title of the film is inspired by the story as Vijay’s daughter addresses him as ‘Baby’ in the original film.
